BEAUTIFUL JOE By Marshall Saunders

This dog story was originally published in 1893. Numerous editions have appeared over the years. In the 1950's and early 1960's, Whitman issued a glossy picture cover edition. Grosset and Dunlap issued hardcover dust jacket and picture cover editions in the 1960's as part of the G&D Famous Dog Stories collection. A sequel was published in 1902 entitled Beautiful Joe's Paradise.
