The Children that Lived in a Shoe was published by Rand McNally & Company in 1942. This title featured illustrations by Esther Friend. Subsequent printings were available in the 1950's and 1960's as part of the Junior Elf and Tip-Top Elf collections. The Tip-Top Elf edition featured illustrations by Elizabeth Webbe.
