GOLDEN STUD By Lance Horner & Ashley Carter

The first title in in this two volume series, The Golden Stud, was written by Lance Horner. It was intended to be a sequel to Flight to Falconhurst and originally featured the six-fingered stud, Tommy Verder. Horner died prior to publication and legal entanglements kept it from being issued as part of the Falconhurst canon. Undaunted, Fawcett had the text revised to change the character of Tommy Verder to Jeff Carson and issued it as an individual plantation novel in August 1975. Their efforts were not wholly successful as novel clearly reads like a sequel, rather than a stand alone title. In 1977, Fawcett issued the second book in the series, Sword of the Golden Stud, written by Harry Whittington under the pseudonym Ashley Carter. Whittington also went on to write two more Falconhurst stories featuring the runaway Tommy Verder: Rogue of Falconhurst and Falconhurst Fugitive.
